Tobi Weisbond is a local artist from Pasco County who has explored a variety of visual arts over the last 60 years. She’s participated in Gulf Coast Maker Con for the last three years and we’re excited to have her back again this year with some new work, for Gulf Coast Maker & Comic Con.
“I worked in insurance for 40 years,” says Tobi. ” Now that I’m retired I’m able to spend my time doing what I love…..creating!
“After dabbling in many different media, about 10 years ago I fell in love with jewelry making. What started out as basic bead stringing evolved into bead-weaving and beaded embroidery. Each bead in each piece is lovingly stitched to create a one of a kind necklace, bracelet or earrings. Recently I have begun expanding to include such things as money clips and business card holders.”
You can meet Tobi and check out her beautiful handcraft work at Gulf Coast Maker & Comic Con March 24.
