Gulf Coast Maker & Comic Con 2018 Fun & Successful!

Many thanks to all our great exhibitors and guests who joined us at Gulf Coast Maker & Comic Con 2018 on March 24th at St. Petersburg College-Seminole Campus! Over 2500 guests came in throughout the day to enjoy electric car races, maker and comic exhibits, gaming and hackathon opportunities, workshops, vendors and  a beautiful day at St. Petersburg College-Seminole Campus.

From blacksmiths to drone pilots, 3D printing to knitting, there was something for everyone.  Gamers on the Edge ran well attended charity video game tournaments in one room while FLASTEM ran their youth Hackathon, with about 25 participants in another.  There was foam weapon combat challenges and a costume contest, and the ever popular Deconstruction Zone, sponsored by eSmart RecyclingCigar City Multirotors delighted with drone demos indoors and out.  PLuGHiTz Live hosted interviews and provided live coverage throughout the day, from the Makers Market.

We deeply appreciate the support of everyone who participated, from our volunteers to all our great makers to the visitors who came in throughout the day. We hope you had fun, learned a few things, and got inspired to try something new.  Special thanks to our awesome food truck participants, Doughbie Brothers Pizza, the Walking Fed, Lickin’ Chops and Kona Ice, and to our event sponsors, Publix, thanks to whom our volunteers got some good eats, and to USF Connect & the Florida High Tech Corridor for supporting the entrepreneurial inventive spirit prevalent throughout the event!

And of course, immense gratitude to St. Petersburg College-Seminole Campus, the Innovation Lab at SPC-Seminole, Eureka! Factory and the Foundation for Community Driven Innovation, who make Gulf Coast Maker & Comic Con possible.
