In 2018, Gulf Coast MakerCon briefly became Gulf Coast Maker & ComicCon, as our annual celebration of local manufacturing, industry and innovation joined forces with the Innovation Lab and St. Petersburg College-Seminole Campus’ Pinellas Comic & MakerCon! Our new combined event was broader and deeper, providing an opportunity for everyone to join together to share resources, learn a craft, hone their skills, find career and academic opportunities, try new tools and innovations.
In 2019, Gulf Coast MakerCon had to take a hiatus for a season, as we build out the Advanced Manufacturing & Robotics Center Fab Lab at University Mall, where we’ll be holding our next event in the spring of 2020! Stay tuned, and sign up at our early interest form to be first in line for updates!
As an independent maker festival, we can talk about and showcase all kinds of products by all kinds of companies, small businesses and individuals, honestly assess things on their own merits, and freely celebrate in the truest DIY spirit of independent, self-reliant, unfettered creativity and fun!
